Charlotte Moore
Exhibition of paintings and prints, October 11th - November 7th 2021

Over the last eighteen months Charlotte Moore has been painting close to home.Sunlight and reflections in her studio and house; she has captured the elusive beams of sunshine and night time reflections [oil on canvas].
Until recently her subjects had mostly been found further afield when she was free to travel abroad and visit museums and exhibitions. In 2018 she was awarded a residency in Japan, and has since produced many pieces about her experiences. “City Lights”, oil on mdf, suggest ubiquitous urban advertising. “Winter Trees”, oil on canvas, is how Hokkaido prepares for many months of heavy snowfall. The carborundum prints, “Kintsukuro”, [mending china with gold], and “Sake Label”are also from this time. The prints are frequently derived from favourite paintings, particularly Renaissance and impressionist, choosing hand coloured aquatint process to bring them to a new life.
